WaveGuide accepted by Dutch  Rijkswaterstaat.

After a profound evaluation of several years the Dutch Governmental Agency Rijkswaterstaat  has adopted the WaveGuide System as water level and wave height sensor in their primary measuring network.

It is found that in all weather conditions
  • the constraint to measure the water level with a cm accuracy was met.
  • with respect to the wave parameters the WaveGuide and the waverider buoys perform equally well.

Above these  necessary  qualities the advantages of the WaveGuide are:
  • Mounted high above the water and without any moving parts there is no need for cleaning or any preventive maintenance. This minimizes the maintenance costs dramatically.
  • Only one sensor is needed for measuring the total range from water level to wave height. Now also harbor oscillations, that are to fast for the floats in the stilling well and to slow for the buoys, can be measured.
